The mekkablue scripts have a few scripts in Scripts > mekkablue > Color Fonts:
In Window > Plugin Manager > Scripts, you will find a few script collections that contain scripts that can help you in your CPAL/COLR workflow. Then creation of both CPAL and COLR tables will be prevented in the respective instance, and you’ll get a plain, boring, foreground-background font.
